Provenance Hirschl and Adler, New York City, 1972 Sotheby's New York, Important Americana, 17 and 19 January 1997, lot 1687. Lot Notes Charles Wysocki was born in Detroit in 1928. After studying art at the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles, he returned to Detroit to work as a commercial artist. Wysocki soon left commercial art and returned to Los Angeles, where he has worked as a freelance artist since.
