has been in original frame under glass and is in fine condition. The ground with craquelure.
Provenance
From the estate of Erik O. Lindblom. Known as the eldest of “The Three Lucky Swedes”,
Lindblom,
along with his partners Brynteson and Lindberg,
discovered the gold fields at Nome,
Alaska. During the late 19th century,
Lindblom worked his way from Stockholm,
Sweden to the United States as a tailor,
moving continually westward to San Francisco. When word of gold in Alaska made its way to the bay,
Lindblom headed north,
eventually striking gold in what is now known as Nome on July 13,
1899. His success in mining continued in California and Nevada. Also known as the owner and operator of the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley,
California,
was a well known and honored citizen until his death in 1928.
