The summer cottage on the left, called Redwood House
belonged to the Stover Family, a prominent early San Diego family in the 1920's. They were friends with several local artists of the day, including Maurice Braun and Edith White. The El Cortez hotel, which opened in 1927, is prominently visible in the center of the town, with Coronado island to the right.
