Vignon, on the stretcher titled a. dat. 1894 as well as handwritten label of Collection Hazard, relined. - Prov.: Since 2000 Hamburg private collection; Gallery Ivo Bouwman, Den Haag; Collection M. Hazard, Paris. - The sober composition reflects the simpleness of rural life, at the same time the landscape obtains a measured dynamic by the artfully arranged single trees. Together with the very delicate colour it gives the painting life and charm.
