Signed lower right, "Frank Vavra"; titled verso on old Bailey, Colorado studio sticker, ca. 1928. Vavra, a student of eastern impressionist Robert Alexander Graham, was the leading native born impressionist landscape painter in Colorado in the twenties, and his style later evolved into regionalism, modernism and ultimately abstraction.
