Egbert van Heemskerk II HAARLEM 1666/1686 - 1744 LONDON A VILLAGE KERMESSE oil on canvas 102.4 by 126.8 cm.; 40 1/2 by 50 in. Kitley House sale, London, Christie's South Kensington, 19–20 October 1987, lot 234, for £9,000. The canvas has been relined and the paint surface is slightly pressed as a result. Restoration consists of infilling of craquelure throughout, small areas of restrengthening, and repairs to a T-shaped tear in the canvas in the right measuring approximately 12 x12 cm. "In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
