265 Jan Van De Velde II (c. 1593-1641): Aer; and Hyems Two etchings in black on laid paper, Aer inscribed 'j van der Velde 2 B 530' on the reverse, Hyems with an indistinct watermark and collector's mark on the reverse. 8 x 11 3/4 in. (sheet), 11 1/2 x 15 in. (sheet), both unframed. Condition: Both with small margins. Hyems with staining, scattered foxing and a tear at bottom extending into the title.

Suite of 4 engr., publ. by Visscher, +/- 29 x 43 cm (trimmed to the platemark, "Autumnus" to the borderline); engr. names, numbers and Latin titles and captions (except for "Autumnus"). Stuck by upper corners under passe-partout. Paper brown., esp. "Ver" and "Aestas", "Ver" : central fold visible on verso, "Hyems" : repaired tear in lower right corner. Good general condition. Complete set in 3rd state, with Visscher's address. Nice engravings picturing popular seasonal pleasures. We join, same present. : Id. - Autumnus, [1617]. Engr., publ. by Visscher, 26,5 x 35,5 cm (large margins); engr. names, number "3" and Latin title and caption. Sl. brown., central fold strengthened on verso, repaired tear in lower margin. 1st state (of 2), from a different suite, with corresponding sign of Zodiac in the sky. Ref.
