Lot 1025 George Turner (1843-1910) oil on canvas, A Welsh valley, signed and dated 1891, 20 x 29.5in. Estimate £400-600 Fairly recently cleaned, relined and restored, canvas good and tight with some fine but stable craquelure showing most notably across the top in the thicker white of the clouds, one small retouch spot towards to the top left corner, signed and dated lower left, in a later ornate gilt scroll frame. Overall good condition. Estimate £200-300 Oil on board, essentially in good untouched condition, may benefit from a light clean. no faults noted, signed and dated lower left, in probably the original ornate gilt gesso scroll frame which has suffered some small losses and splits. Typed title label verso, title and artist name also indistinctly inscribed in centre of back panel. Provenance: Deceased estate.
