John Charles Tunnard, (British, b.1875) A series of seven hunting scenes, representing Masters, Huntsmen and Hounds, inscribed on the reverse of each with the names of each Hunt, Master and Huntsman signed lower right, oil on canvas laid down on panel (7) h:28 w:37 cm Other Notes: One painting depictsThurstan Holland-Hibbert during his Mastership of The Teme Valley Hounds. He left the Teme Valley to go to the Avon Vale in 1924, and was with the Teme Valley for only a few seasons, say 1921/24. At this time he was Mr Thurstan Holland-Hibbert (not The Hon.) as he became The Honourable in 1931 when his father succeeded to a peerage. Thurstan, in turn, inherited the peerage in 1935 and became 4th Viscount Knutsford. Estimate £1,000-1,500 They are under glass so the colours are still bright and there is no sign of paint flake Titled as follows on the reverse; 1. Lord Lonsdale, The Quorn, Tom Firr 2. The Ho.
