39 1/4x26 1/2 inches, 99 3/4x67 1/4 cm. Latham Litho & Printing Co., Long Island City.
Condition B- / B: extensive repaired tears, creases, abrasions and restoration in margins and image; minor losses at edges; offsetting in side margins. Mounted on paper to linen.
An evocative and dramatic nighttime view of the tip of Manhattan seen past the Statue of Liberty. The "city that never sleeps" is depicted full of life and light, as seen in skyscrapers, ferries, tugboats and a spotlight. Treidler's extensive career as a poster designer began during the First World War and carried on through the 1960s, when he was the in-house designer for Furness Cruise Lines. Treidler, "arguably the nation's most outstanding poster artist," considered this image to be one of his two best-known works (Zega p. 68). Zega 88, Posters & Publicity 1927 p. 18.

BERMUDA. Circa 1955.
38x24 inches, 96 1/2x61 cm.
Condition B+: repaired tear and overpainting at bottom edge into image; repaired pin holes and restoration in corners.
Treidler worked on many large advertising campaigns during his long and varied career. He designed propaganda posters during the First World War, worked for the French and Furness Lines, and was also employed by the Bermuda Board of Trade to help promote the island. This is one of the artist's rarer posters for the island. This is a variant before text.

Each 15x11 inches, folded, 38x28 cm. Rogers & Company, New York.
Condition varies, generally A- / B+: foxing on recto and verso; minor creasing along center folds. Paper.
From a group of six promotional "folded-posters" (missing number five) designed and printed by a printing firm upon building and moving to a new headquarters in New York City. "In sequence these posters depicted the stages of progress in the completion of the great building" (Printing Art, vol 27, 1916, p. 478).

N.B. Treidler was best known for his posters and illustrations. Hedesigned posters for the Furness Bermuda Line and the BermudaTourist Offices.
