1. William Henry Fox Talbot (1800-1877) Bust of Patroclus "The Pencil of Nature", 1843 Vintage salt print from paper negative, on orginal card mount. Titled in black ink on the recto of the mount cm 14,5 x 14 (5.7 x 5.5 in.) This photograph, showing Talbot's plaster cast of a Hellenistic marble now in the British Museum, appeared as plate 17 in The Pencil of Nature.
