(lot of 24) Gerald T. Tailfeathers (Canadian, 1925-1975), Assorted Scenes including Native Dancing Rituals, Cowboys Roping Calves, and Scenes of Everyday Life, ink on paper drawings, unsigned, sheets (overall/each): 8.25"h x 10.25"w. Provenance: From the collection of George and Louise Spindler. Mr. and Mrs. Spindler were well-known anthropologists and professors at Stanford who worked with the Blood Indians in the late 50s/early 60s. Gerald Tailfeathers (a Blood Indian) did these ink drawings for them in support of their research. These drawings may have been intended to go into a book the Spindlers were working on about the Blood Indians. However, despite much research this book on the Blood Indians never materialized.
