This collection belongs to Luo Baoxi,
born inMei County,Guangdong province
from an impoverished background. He
was passionate about Chinese paintings
from a young age and his talent won him
a sponsorship to study in an art school.
After Hong Kong and Guangdong fell
under Japanese rule, Luo was forced to
relocate to Indonesia and relinquish his
dreams of becoming a painter.He started
his own business and became an
entrepreneur instead. His passion for the
arts did not diminish and he turned his
focus to collecting Chinese paintings,
visiting his favorite artists in the fifties and
sixties.
