The Swiss photographer Emil Schulthess studied photography underHans Finsler and is known for his colour photographs of the UnitedStates, Antarctica, the Amazon, China and Russia, in particular hisphotography of the sun and its paths. In acknowledgement of hiswork in the Antarctic, the U.S. Board of Geographic Names hascalled the point 84 47'S Latitude, 115 00'W Longitude"Schulthess-Buttress".
