We are grateful to Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, forconfirming the attribution to Pieter Rijsbrack after inspection ofthe original painting. He dates the present lot to circa 1740 andcompares the composition to a painting with Christie's, London, 9April 2003, lot 80 and to another work in The Manchester City ArtGallery, inv. 1908/36, dated 1740.
