Bronis�awa Rychter-Janowska (1868 -1953)
Bronis�awa Rychter-Janowska, also called the “painter of polishmanor-houses”, began her education in Krakow under the supervisonof her brother Stanis�aw Janowski. In 1896 she left Poland in orderto continue her studies and moved to Munich where she was taught byAnton A�bé and Szymon Hollósy. She traveled a lot to such places asGermany and Italy, where in 1904 she studied at the FlorenceAcademy and in Rome. At first she was deeply connected with Krakowhowever around the years 1908-1909 she moved to Stary S�cz, whereshe ran a private painting school. Beginning from year 1901 shefrequently exhibited in Krakow, Warsaw and Lwow. Rychter-Janowskapainted realistic views and manor-houses interiors as well aschurches, country scenes, landscapes and not so often portraits.She was wife of painter Tadeusz Rychter and sister-in-law toGabriela Zapolska.
