panoramic view with detailed plan below of the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park for the Great Exhibition, with Spanish text, issued as a supplement to El Correo de Ultramar, tinted lithograph finished with original hand-colouring, 1851, Imp. Bertauts, Paris, 325 x 490mm. (12 3/4 x 19 1/4 in), unframed.
El Correo de Ultramar was published in Paris for the Latin American market from 1842 to 1886.

vase, ostrich egg cup, nautilus cup and strawberries" oil on canvas. Signed lower left "J. Robie". Canvas: 45''H x 34.5''W; Frame: 51.5''H x 41.5''W. Relined. Provenance: From the family of Mimi and Herman W. Lay, founder of H.W. Lay & Company (makers of Lay's potato chips) and former CEO of Frito Lay and PepsiCo. Jean-Baptiste Robie (Belgian, 1821-1910) exhibited and won numerous medals at the Brussels Salon, Paris Salon and at the Palais des Beaux-Arts. He is best known for his beautifully colored and exceptionally detailed floral still life paintings.
