Lot 34 Edwin Thomas Roberts British, 1840-1917 Lady with a Mandolin , 1870 Monogramed and dated 1870 (ll) Oil on canvas 20 1/8 x 16 inches C Estimate $800-1,200 Frame rubbing. Dirty varnish. There is a white substance splattered on the surface. Heavy craquelure throughout painting. The is a small area of paint flaking in the upper right, due to the heavy craquelure. Small area of possible restoration in the lower right corner and the center right. The center right area seems to be a paint chip. No other restoration seen under UV light.
