Jones's work as an artist is a fascinating reminder of the extent to which his interest as a photographer coincided with his earlier but lasting interests as an artist. Lot Notes
Jones embarked on his Mediterranean journey with Kit Talbot andfamily in November 1845. After Charlotte Talbot's death in Malta inApril 1846, Jones and his wife continued on to Naples, where thisphotograph was taken.
