Attributed to Carletto Caliari - ink andsepia wash, "Appollo Visiting Diana", bearing Earl Spencer and W.Mayor collectors marks - unframed. Picture bears title mount"Titian". Sometime ago it featured on "The Antiques Roadshow" andwas believed to be by The Old Master, but research has cast somedoubt on this. (8 1/2" x 12")

19th Century English School - oil on canvas laid on card, Head and
Shoulder Portrait of John Caunter, 17" x 13", in period rosewood
frame
Note: John Caunter was born in 1797 in Ashburton, the elder son of
John and Grace Caunter, who were serge-makers and later Solicitors
in Ashburton and Liskeard. In 1822 John married Mary Eales of
Liskeard - the only daughter of Major General John Eales. The 1841
Census shows them living at Waye House, Ashburton, with two
children. John Caunter died in 1857 and Mary in 1869 - both are
buried in Ashburton. (Further information is available)
