reverse frame etched with a "Grundy & Smith,

Manchester" label.

1786-1854) "Portrait of George Lambert": The painting has been relined and restored. There are areas of inpainted repairs in the background,

coat,

forehead and within the craquelure on the face. There appears to be a repaired vertical tear and a smaller c-shaped tear in the right arm. There are stretcher marks around the canvas and scattered craquelure throughout.
