Lot 83 Franz Priking French, 1927-1979 Venice Signed Priking (ul) Oil on canvas 51 x 70 3/4 inches Provenance: Private collection, France, circa 1964 C Estimate $4,000-6,000 Frame rubbing. Dirty varnish. Scattered area of active paint flaking, particularly throughout the sky and the water at center and center left. Included in these areas are paint flakes that are missing. There is no visible restoration under UV light. Any condition statement is given as a courtesy to a client, is only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Lot 45 FRANZ PRIKING (german 1927-1979) STILL LIFE Signed bottom right and again verso, oil on canvas 18 x 21 in. (45.8 x 53.8cm) provenance: Galerie De La Colombe, Vallauris, France. Galerie 8, New York, New York. [Purchased from above in 1962]. Private Collection, New York, New York. Estimate $1,000-2,000 Six inch diagonal raised line at center through the orange fruit. Very shallow crazing. A 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. v-shaped split in the black at bottom right where the paint is slightly lifting from the canvas. 5 minute losses approx 2-6 mm each along the extreme top edge where the canvas is in contact with the frame overmat. A few very pale white liquid stains in various places on canvas. Surface soiling verso. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.
