Edmond Marie Petitjean French, 1844-1925 Village on the Edge of a River , 1889 Signed E. Petitjean and dated 1889 (ll) Oil on canvas 19 3/4 x 27 3/4 inches (50.2 x 70.5 cm) Estimate $4,000-6,000 Very dirty varnish. Frame rubbing. Glue lined. Edges with paper tape. 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch area at left center where the canvas is bubbled, as well as a 3/4 x 2 inch area at lower right center. 3/4 inch deep scratch at lower far left center, with some loss and small dent.
