Boris Ivanovich Pastukhov

- Boris Ivanovich Tsvetkov 1893-Circa 1940 Carpet Sellers in Bayburt Signed and dated 1917 and inscribed By Bayburt, watercolour overpencil 16,5 x 24,8 cm. Once a central point along the ancient Silk Road, Bayburt wasvisited by Marco Polo and the Ottoman traveller Evliya Celebi. ARussian invasion destroyed the town in 1825, but it was laterrebuilt. The town is still known for the ruins of the ByzantineBayburt Castle and several Ottoman mosques, including Ulu Cami,which was built in the 16th century, hamams andtombstones. (EUR1 600-1 950)

- Boris Ivanovich Pastukhov (1894-after 1947) Still Life with a Vase of Flowers Signed and dated Paris 1947, oil on canvas 73 x 60 cm. Pastukhov studied under A.A. Murashko in Kiev, and exhibited with the group Koltso there in 1914. In the 1920s he emigrated to Yugoslavia, before finally settling in Paris, where he exhibited successfully a the Galerie Charpentier and the Tuileries.
