Carl Ostersetzer (German, 1836-1874) "Philosophical Contemplations", oil on panel of a cobbler musing over a lady's slipper, third quarter 19th century, signed lower right, the reverse with an old handwritten exhibition label, 12-1/2" x 8-1/2". Presented in a good period carved giltwoodand plaster frame in the rococo taste.
