William Oliver (1823-1901) The Love Letter signed and dated 1884 36 x 28ins. Oil on original canvas which is now starting to sag, but fair condition. would benefit from a light clean, signed and dated lower right. In later foliate moulded gesso frame which has suffered from minor losses. No labels verso.

Estimate £2,000-3,000 Good untouched condition, varnish a little discoloured andoverall would benefit from a light clean but no signs of damage oroverpainting. Signed and dated lower left. In gilt slip frame onlywith title printed at the bottom. Stacy Marks label verso, dated1973. Canvas re-lined probably at the same time. Provenance - forsale from a deceased estate.
