John Nash R.A. (British, 1893-1977) Nailsworth, Gloucestershire signed 'John Nash' (lower right) oil on canvas 35 x 52.5 cm. (13 3/4 x 20 3/4 in.) PROVENANCE: Private Collection, U.K. The present work depicts Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, which lies in one of the Stroud Valleys in the Cotswolds. Nash was a frequent visitor to the region, having enjoyed time in Sapperton and painting notable landscapes there throughout his career such as Gloucestershire Landscape (1914, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford).
