ROBERT PLIMIER "Lady dressed in black wearing top hat smoking a cigarette" oil on paper signed lower left and dated '06 CONDITION REPORTS Image has slipped in the frame. Some dark spotted marks, some yellow staining, cigarette almost looks like it has been painted later. some light scratches and various other small marks. Various general signs of wear and tear throughout. Under UV light sections of the face and hat and coat appear white, possibly repainted. Frame in poor condition with various scratches, scuffs, marks, knocks, chips plus white paint marks etc. Approx 83 cms x 58 cms

Main background basically in reasonable order though the silk with areas of wear and tear conducive with age and usage. 27 cm x 414 cm over all. Image size approx 142 cm

A George III carved oak Royal Coat of Arms in high relief in the manner of Grinling Gibbons inscribed "Hon y soit qui mal y pense - Dieu et mon droit", 52 cm x 54 cm CONDITION REPORTS Please see further images online. Woodworm holes all over. Various splits and cracks all over. Split to the bottom section towards the unicorn's rear left hoof which has probably been re-glued. There is a split to the stem of the thistle. The unicorn no longer has his horn - it is missing. There is a large crack to the top right hand corner in the foliate carving. There are signs of old repairs to the top left hand foliate carving. All over various small scratches, chips, cracks and splits. Various general signs of wear and tear. AFTER WILLIAM HAYES (1729-1799) "Malacca Cross Beak", engraving heightened with watercolour, signed and dated 1778 lower right, titled to the centre, together with AFTER WILLIAM HAYES "Waxbill", engraving later coloured, signed and dated 1780 lower right, titled to centre CONDITION REPORTS Malacca Cross Beak has foxing, diiscolouration marks etc throughout, as does the Wax Bill. Malacca Cross Beak also has a crease in the paper. The Wax Bill also has a smudge to the ink on the left hand side. Both are in need of a clean with insects underneath the glass. Both appear to have a small pencil mark in the top right hand corner - possibly "PR". General wear and tear including knocks, bumps etc to the frames - see images for more details. Each approx 25 cm x 17.5 cm
