Antonio Matteo Montemezzo

Antonio Montemezzo (San Polo di Piave, Treviso 1841–1898 Munich) Geese Grazing, signed A. Montemezzo, oil on panel, 22 x 33 cm, framed, (Rei) Catalogued and illustrated in: Eugenio Bucciol, Antonio Montemezzo, Ein italienischer Maler der Münchner Schule, Oderzo 1988, p. 66, no. 4. Antonio Montemezzo undertook his artistic training at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Venice. At first he worked in Italy before moving to Vienna where, after his first successes, he finally made his home in Munich. The main focus of his works lies in the depiction of farming landscapes which Montemezzo represented with great virtuosity.
