Exhibited: Charlottenborg 1843 no. 180. Bought by "Kunstforeningen". The painting was made a prize in a lottery in "Kunstforeningen" and won by Mr. Tønder, Titular Councillor of State. Provenance: Arresødal near Frederiksværk, North Zealand. ABR auction 87, 1957 no. 337, reproduced p. 113. At least one more version of the painting is known with an identical motif and almost same size. That painting was sold at ABR auction 786, 2008 no. 150.
