Lune (Moon)
Etching with aquatint on Rives wove paper. 1954.
33 x 24,5 cm (57 x 38 cm).
Signed "Keiko Minami". Edition of 25.
Minami, Bonheur, 2006, p. 18.

Probably after the process of etching, Minami abrades the surface of the cleaned plate, possibly with a fine sandpaper, to give with delicate horizontal and vertical scratches a soft aquatint tone to the background. This sort of mechanical aquatint can be found in several of Minami's etchings. Superb impression of this early etching, with full margins, with deckle edges on two sides.
