Michela de Vito (Italian, fl. early 19th Century) A woman in the traditional costume from the Albanian colony of Villa Badessa, Province of Teramo, Kingdom of Naples; with a Neapolitan 'lazzarone' smoking a pipe gouaches (2) 18 x 14cm (7 x 5in) Other Notes: Michela De Vito was most likely the daughter of Camillo De Vito, a prolific gouache painter active in Naples in the early 19th century. Both of them are renowned for their fine rendering of regional costumes as well as their depictions of scenes from everyday life in Naples.
