Still-life with bottles
Oil on cardboard, 15 x 37 cm, framed, glazed, undated.
Czech painter of genre, he studied under J. Preisler and V. Nechleba at the Academy of Arts in Prague, then in Vienna and Paris where he made copies of paintings in the Louvre. He was influenced by the work of Dutch and Italian masters, he is known for his Impressionist portraits of the French type and Neo-classicist smooth painting. He also illustrated books and exhibited his work in Topičův salon, Aventinská mansarda, in Paris he was a member of Salon d´Automne and Salons des Indépendents. See T 2/646, V 5/195, TB 36/392.
