Regent St.' on thereverse oil on canvas 31 x 24 in. (78.8 x 61 cm.) Lot Notes The 'gaberlunzie' of the title refers to a traditional Scottishterm meaning 'beggar'. Often found in Scots literature, it isthought to derive from the medieval era and a defunct word for apilgrims cloak, 'gaberdine'.
