- Admiral Horatio Nelson standing onthe gun-deck surveying the enemy through his telescope withofficers in attendance and in the midst of a battle; Admiral Nelsonboarding an enemy ship by its riggings, calling on the men tofollow; watercolours, both signed, 44x30cm., ea., (2) Note: Born inColeraine, Co. Derry, educated there and at College of Design,Belfast. He exhibited at the RA from 1889, having moved to Londonin 1883. He was responsible for the painting, in 1927, of thesailor's head on the cigarette packets of John Player and Son.

Add. Notes: signed 'A D MCCORMICK' (lower right) oil on canvas 26½ x 20½ in. (67.3 x 52 cm.)Notes: La Danseuse au Soleil noir is related to the later print Le Cracheur de Flammes (D. 650), but is presented in a landscape rather than a portrait format, and also bears differences in the background colours. This is confirmed by the certificate written in pencil by the director of the Fondació Miró on the reverse of the sheet. As this is the Bon í Tirer impression for an edition which was not executed, it may be presumed to be unique.
