(Title detached with light marginal waterstaining.) 19th-century half calf, spine gilt, red edges (corners rubbed, light scuff marks).
FIRST EDITION, RARE PART ISSUE. The work is part of Mayer's Views of Egypt, Palestine and other parts of the Ottoman Empire which was published together in one volume in 1804. The single parts were first published separately in 1801, 1803 and 1804. The hand-coloured aquatint plates include charming views of Jerusalem, Mount Zion, Bethlehem and the Dead Sea.
