Japanese 1686-1764- Figures playing a game; woodblock printed in colours,

24x36cm. Note: Okumura Masanobu worked during the Edo Period in Japan. Most of his works were finished in the early Edo Period around the 1720s. This period greatly influenced Masanobu's style. The Edo period also effects his work by painting and drawing about the courtesans; the complications of the spiritual and social roles he often related. He knew how to reflect what was happening in the outside world and depicts it. Masanobu was a highly talented man and regarded as one of the most famous and inspiring artists of the Edo period.
