CATALOGUE NOTE
Mark Markarian studied photography at the Munich Photo Academyunder the personal supervision of Willy Zielke (1902-1989) andremained proud of that connection all his life. Markarian isconsidered a major practitioner of the bromoil process, notably forhis use of the triple bromoil transfer technique. This and thefollowing two lots were first exhibited by Markarian himself inMunich in 1932. More recently they have been shown by thephotographer's descendants at the International Bromoil Societyseminar in Virginia, USA.
