Friedrich Loos (Graz 1797-1890 Kiel) The Mönchsberg inSalzburg, inscribed Mönchsberg Salzburg and dated 1833 on the loweredge, watercolour and gouache over traces of pencil on paper,pencil study on the reverse, 26.4 x 38.8 cm, mounted on asupporting sheet, minor foxing, Passepartout, (Sch) Friedrich Loos, one of Josef Rebell’’’’s mostdistinguished and well-known pupils, painted this work during hisSalzburg period, the city where he lived from 1816 onwards andwhose panorama was also a subject of his painting.
