Lewis and dated 1892 (lr) Watercolor and gouache on paper laid down to cardboard 9 1/2 x 20 7/8 inches C Estimate $800-1,200 Matburn. Toned. Some possible staining in the sky. There is some paper residue on recto along the right and left edge under the matting (this is probably from a former matting). Lot 190 LEWIS, Edmund Darch, (American, 1835-1910): New England Coastal Scene, Watercolor, heightened with white on paper, laid down on backboard, 9 3/4'' x 20'', signed lower right, dated 1884, encased in heavy gilded period frame 20 1/2'' x 30 1/2'', frame is missing some of its decoration. Est. $800/1200** CONDITION: Overall browning to the paper with a very noticeable spot in the sky, laid down on a non-acid free backboard.

Lot 374 Edmund Darch Lewis (American, 1835-1910) Sailing Along the Coast Signed and dated "Edmund D. Lewis 1900" l.r. Watercolor, graphite, and whiting on paper/board, sight size 9 1/2 x 20 1/2 in. (24.2 x 52.0 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, not examined out of frame. Estimate $400-600 The paper has yellowed. There are several gentle, irregular creases near the upper edge of the composition. Although it has not been removed from its frame, there are no other visible condition issues to report.

Edmund Darch Lewis (1835 - 1910) Watercolor L4AMI A marine landscape with lighthouse and central sailboat. Signed and dated for 1899 at the lower right corner. Sight 20 1/2" x 9 1/2", the frame 26 3/4" x 15 3/4". Expected toning is evident through the glass, other appears to be in good condition. Not examined out of the frame. From a Local Collection.
