Relined at some stage. The paintings have been cleaned although there are residues of an old varnish. A Storm passing over Ben Lawers has some visible retouchings in the upper left hand corner of the sky.

signed and dated 1872,
12 x 24in.
Oil on original canvas, still fairly tight but notable craquelure lines running mostly vertically throughout the work, one small hole knocked in the centre of the picture which can be seen just into the sky, otherwise fair to good condition, a little rubbing around the margin, framed under glass in a 1920's moulded oak frame, no labels of inscriptions verso.
