Lot 419A Thomas Landseer (British, 1795-1880), After Edwin Landseer, R.A. (British, 1802-1873) Eos, A Favorite Greyhound of Prince Albert Inscribed in the plate "Painted by Edwin Landseer, R.A." l.l. and "Engraved by Thomas Landseer" l.r. Engraving with hand-coloring on paper, 18 x 24 1/4 in. (45.5 x 61.5 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, staining to u.r., not examined out of frame. N.B. This engraving by Thomas Landseer is after his brother Edwin Landseer's oil painting of 1841, found in the collection of Queen Elizabeth II. The original painting was commissioned by Queen Victoria as a Christmas present for Price Albert. The hat, gloves, and cane all belonged to Price Albert. Estimate $200-250

Graphite on paper, sight size 10 3/4 x 8 1/2 in. (27.3 x 21.6 cm),framed. Condition: Mild toning, mild scattered soiling/staining. Provenance: The estate of Sir Edwin A.G. Manton. Estimate $1,000-1,500 The sheet measures 11 1/2 x 9 5/8 in. It is hinged to the backmat at the left edge. There are a few small scattered fox marks.Light scattered staining and some subtle toning.
