Cornelis Kuipers (Dordrecht 1739-1802) Roses, peonies, cineria, tulips, a great mullein and other flowers in a sculpted vase, a pineapple, grapes, peaches and other fruit on a marble ledge, with a perch on a fishing rod, a caterpillar, a fly, a spider and ants with signature 'J. Van Os. fecit' (lower right, on the ledge) oil on panel 26¾ x 20 1/8 in. (67.9 x 51.1 cm.)
Cardinal Joseph Fesch, Rome. Acquired from the Fesch Collection by Count Xavier Branicki, Paris, great-uncle of Countess Rey. The Property of Countess Rey, Château de Montrésor; Sotheby's, London, 26 March 1969, lot 85 as 'JAN VAN OS' (£9,200 possibly to Partridges). with The Hallsborough Gallery, London (his advertisement in The Connoisseur, May 1971, vol. 177, p. 3, no. 71, as 'J. van Os'). with Edward Speelman, London, circa 1971-2.
