Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg (Draveil 1833/8-1904 Paris) A view of a Mediterranean harbour signed and dated 'C. Kuwasseg. fils. 1873' (lower left) oil on canvas 56.2 x 100.3 cm. Although the harbour town depicted in this picture has not been identified so far, the composition closely resembles a painting by Kuwasseg of the town of Camogli in Italy (with Burlington, London).

Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg (Draveil 1838–1904 Paris) View of a City on the Loire in the Evening Light, signed, dated C. Kuwasseg fils 1880, oil on canvas, 60 x 100 cm, framed, (Rei) The artist was the son of the painter Karl Josef Kuwasseg. He began his artistic training with his father before entering the French navy and travelling widely. Kuwasseg exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon between 1859 and 1904. His works predominantly depict views of northern France and Belgium. (cf. Thieme-Becker, Künstlerlexikon, vol. XXXII, p.145)
