Kitagawa Utamaro II (fl.circa 1804-1830) Dated 1808 A print from the series Sono sugata mawashi mai furyu , depicting Yamauba seated and carrying Kintaro, who holds aloft a small axe, up on her shoulders, a kuma and drum at her feet, censor's seal kiwame , date seal Bunka 5 (1808), publisher's mark of Tsuruya Kinsuke, signed Utamaro hitsu . Oban, 37½cm x 24.2cm (14¾in x 9½in).
