More Francis Joseph "Wiggs" Kinnaird (1875-1915), "On the River at Broxbourne, Hertfordshire", signed, titled on gallery label verso, watercolour, 24 x 44.5cm.; 9.5 x 17.5in. * Exhibited widely, mostly in the provinces, at Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester from 1895-1911. Wiggs Kinnaird was commissioned in the South Staffordshire Regiment in 1907 and promoted to Captain in 1910. He went to France with his Regiment in March 1915 and was wounded in action at Richebourg in May. He was brought back to London and died of his wounds on 10th June 1915 at the age of 40. F Wiggs Kinnaird (1875-1915) pair of oils on canvas 'A Suffolk Village' & 'Cornfield near...' signed 10 x 14in. Estimate £500-800 Both in good clean untouched condition, evidence of oldcraquelure notably in the white of the clouds but stable, perhapswould benefit from a very light clean. Original canvas has beenstrengthened with some sort of varnish painted on the back of it,traces of old framers labels verso, framed in re-gilt gesso acornand leaf moulded frames.
