ACTOR IN SHAKESPEAREAN COSTUME LOUNGING ON A REDSOFA

Private Collection, Burlington, Ontario bydescent, found in the residence the mother purchased in 1970 fromMarian Wright, Cap a L’’’’Aigle, Charlevoix county, Quebec
This painting and all the furnishings, paintings, costumes, lettersand photographs in the Wright residence were sold with the housewhen purchased by the present owner’’’’s mother in 1970. The sofa andthe artwork on the wall in the painting were still in the livingroom of the house when it was purchased. This painting hung overthe fireplace.
Kerr-Lawson did in fact spend time in the area of Charlevoix. Thenephew of the Wright family served in WWI as did Kerr-Lawson. Inthe attic, several trunks were located containing handmade costumesalong with photographs of the family taking part in theme festivals(including Alice in Wonderland).
