Lot 81 LEON KELLY (american, 1901-1982) "ABSTRACT COMPOSITION" Signed upper right, watercolor and crayon on paper laid down to board 14 x 17 3/8 in. (35.6 x 44.1cm) provenance: Frank S. Schwarz & Son, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From the Collection of Vincent Smith-Durham, Hav-A-Mil House. Estimate $800-1,200 With the palest light-staining, time staining, the paper toned slightly (evident in the unpainted areas around the perimeter of the composition). A 1/4-in. crescent shaped tear at the lower left corner (faintly evident). Overall in very good, original condition. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. (33 x 24.8cm) provenance: Hugo Gallery, New York, New York. Private Collection, Pennsylvania. Estimate $1,200-1,800 Pale surface soiling. Minor cracking in the vertical center element and in the green at center, also bottom center, and in the brown at bottom left and in the green at center right , and in the upper left corner.
