Provenance: Mr. Wilde, Councellor in Randers. (1840). Mr. Fenger, Titular Councellor of State Mrs. Barnekow.
Albert Küchler moved to Rome in 1830, and settled there for the rest of his life. He felt like a native Roman and converted to Catholicism in 1844, and later became a monk. Thereafter, he only painted religious motifs.

Exhibited: Charlottenborg 1840 no. 37. Provenance: Justitsråd(Councellor) Wilde in Randers. (1840). Etatsråd (Titular Councellorof State) Fenger. Mrs. Barnekow. Albert Küchler moved to Rome in1830 and settled there for the rest of his life. He felt like anative Roman and converted to Catholicism in 1844 and became amonk. Hereafter he only painted religious motifs. Albert Küchlerhas here managed to catch the atmosphere of the Italian osteria.The innkeeper at the fireplace, his wife pouring wine, the huntersenjoying the wine and the innkeeper's daughter trying to attractthe attention of the young hunter by showing him a kitten.
