Description: Ellison Hoover (American, 1888-1955) Fair and Colder , 1949, edition of 250, published by American Associated Artists (AAA/Czestochowski, 1949.034). Signed "Ellison Hoover" in pencil l.r. Lithograph on wove paper, image size 8 5/8 x 12 3/8 in. (21.8 x 31.4 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 1 1/4 inches, several pinpoint fox marks. Payment Due: Buyer shall communicate with Seller within three (3) days of the completion of the auction. Complete payment is due upon receipt of notification of a successful bid and shall be received by the Seller no later than 10 days following the auction. Title shall pass to the Buyer once payment in full has been made. All shipping charges will be borne by the Buyer. See point (5) above. 8. Winning Bid: The highest bidder shall be the buyer and if any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the auction coordinator shall decide the buyer. 9. Reserve Price: Some lots are offered subject to a reserve. A reserve is a confidential minimum price below which such a lot will not be sold. Rogallery.com will act to protect the reserve by bidding through the auctioneer. The auctioneer may open the bidding on any lot below the reserve by placing a bid on behalf of the Seller and may continue to bid on behalf of the Seller up to the amount of the reserve. ELLISON HOOVER McSorley's. Lithograph on cream wove paper, circa 1930. 225x355 mm; 8 7/8x14 inches, full margins. Edition of 60. Signed, titled and inscribed "Ed/60" in pencil, lower margin. A very good impression of this extremely scarce lithograph. McSorley's Old Ale House claims to be the oldest tavern in New York, dating back to 1854. It is an East Village institution where the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Boss Tweed and numerous other famous personalties have visited, as well as John Sloan and the Ashcan School artists. We have not found another impression of this lithograph at auction in the past 25 years. Estimate $1,000-1,500
